DataCoeur
(Data Arrhythmia Technology and Cardio-vascular Imaging)
At the Heart of Innovation
DataCœur Research Team, ETHICS Laboratory – EA 7446
Coordinated by Sylvestre Maréchaux,
The researchers at DataCœur have recognized expertise in the field of cardiovascular diseases.
DataCœur was born from the desire to bring together researchers from complementary backgrounds around innovative and pragmatic research.
Our common ambition: to advance medical knowledge
to optimize patient care and quality of life.
Our Research Areas
VALVULAR HEART DISEASES
For several years, our team has been actively involved in identifying and assessing criteria derived from multimodal cardiac imaging.
(echocardiography, MRI, CT scan, nuclear imaging).
Our research focuses on large cohorts of patients with aortic stenosis, mitral regurgitation, or aortic regurgitation.
In partnership with internationally renowned centers, we work to refine diagnostic approaches to offer increasingly personalized care tailored to patients’ needs.
ARRHYTHMIAS AND CARDIAC PACING
The DataCœur team also conducts innovative research in two major areas:
the treatment of arrhythmias by cardiac catheterization,
physiological cardiac pacing.
This work relies on both national multicenter cohorts, the utilization of health databases, and original projects conducted at the local level.
Our objective remains constant: to improve the precision and quality of care offered to patients.
HEART FAILURE AND RESYNCHRONIZATION
For over 15 years, our team has conducted in-depth research on the electrical and mechanical synchronization of the heart in the context of heart failure.
Thanks to close collaboration between the echocardiography and electrophysiology laboratories, we have been able to:
establish the link between electrical activation and mechanical synchronization,
improve the selection of patients eligible for cardiac resynchronization therapy by pacemaker.
Our echocardiography laboratories, certified by the European Society of Cardiology, attest to our commitment to quality research and excellent teaching.
RESEARCH IN THE AREA OF NATIONAL DATABASES
Randomized blinded clinical trials remain the gold standard for evaluating the efficacy and safety of treatments.
However, they have certain limitations, particularly in terms of patient representativeness.
To overcome these constraints, the DataCoeur team utilizes national health databases by relying on artificial intelligence algorithms, thus allowing access to near-exhaustive data.
This work is conducted in collaboration with the INSERM UMS 11 team at Paul Brousse Hospital in Paris, the startup Implicity, and the ReDSiam network, on topics related to rhythmology.
AMYLOIDOSIS
Les amyloses systémiques regroupent des maladies de dépôts protéiques mal conformés (AL, ATTR, etc.) dont l’atteinte cardiaque conditionne le pronostic, notamment si le diagnostic tarde.
Despite major diagnostic and therapeutic advances, significant grey areas persist: early detection, amyloid load dynamics, prediction of treatment response, and entanglements with valvulopathies.
This is a rapidly expanding field, at the crossroads of cardiology, hematology, genetics, and advanced imaging, offering concrete opportunities for translational research and innovative clinical trials.
